Rata Subsoilers are the most user friendly & easy to use aerators available for sale in New Zealand. Subsoilers otherwise known as aerators are pulled through the paddocks to lift & fracture the soil composition in order to aerate the ground, allowing for deeper & more vigorous root growth.
This conventional subsoil aerator manufactured by Rata & sold through a network of NZ dealers features the same ‘V-frame’ design on machines with 5 legs.
The Rata ‘V-frame’ subsoiler advantage:
Less drag between aerator legs:This makes Rata manufactured subsoilers the easiest aerators to pull, resulting in less fuel burn & less wear & tear to the tractor
Does a cleaner job:When exiting the ground at headlands, the legs of a Rata aerator exit the ground independently & not at the same time, this eliminates ‘heaving’ which occurs with straight frame subsoilers.
Lower power requirements:Because there is less drag between Rata aerator legs, they can be pulled with lower horse power tractors than their straight frame equivalents.
Conventional Rata Subsoilers are designed for tractors up to 120hp, the robust double bar ‘V frame’ & 16mm linkages ensure it endures tough ground conditions while standing the test of time. The easily adjustable 18” coulter skieths pre-cut the grass to leave clean cuts. The rear roller presses the grass back down & also doubles as the depth control in conjunction with the 3 point linkage of the tractor.
Note: 150mm wide foot available in lieu of standard point
Features & Benefits
Rata Subsoiler legs are in a 'V' formation, this reduces drag between the legs making it easier to pull and uses less fuel. V formation also means the legs leave the ground independently at the headlands which eliminates 'heaving'
2Heavy Duty Build
Rata Subsoilers feature a heavy duty build, the 12mm wear protected legs are securely bolted into mounts that are completely welded and gusseted onto the heavy RHS mainframe for strength.
3Shear Bolt Protection
Rata Subsoiler legs are protected with 12mm shearbolts, this ensures the Subsoiler and tractor remain damage free when obstacles are encountered as the leg simply breaks away while remaining secured by the main mounting bolt.
The rear roller on the Rata Subsoiler is securely mounted into a sealed bearing to ensure smooth operation with minimal wear. The roller is also kept clean by a scraper mounted just behind.
An innovative modular leg, foot & point assembly provides maximum flexibility of parts and means each part can be independently replaced of the other.
Rata Subsoilers feature pasture pre-cutting Skieth/Coulters for use when subsoiling pastures, this enables a cleaner job as it cuts the pasture before the main leg goes through eliminating trash build up and wear around the leg.
